Taking care of your tattoo

Your tattoo is done! Now it’s time to let your skin do the rest.
Here’s everything you need to know to help it heal well and stay beautiful.

    • Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.

    • Clean the area twice a day using warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.

    • Pat dry gently with a clean towel or paper towel — don’t rub.

    • Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer after each wash.

    • You can moisturize twice a day for at least 2 weeks — or more if your skin feels dry.

    • I recommend:
Tattoo balm from the studio (available at the shop)
Cicaplast Baume B5 by La Roche-Posay → link

    • Avoid regular lotions and don’t use sunscreen on the tattoo during the first 2 weeks.

  • If your tattoo is covered with second skin, here’s how to care for it:

    • Keep it on for at least 2 hours and up to 2 days.

    • It’s waterproof, so you can shower normally while wearing it — just avoid soaking, swimming, or long hot showers.

    • It might form bubbles or blurry patches under the plastic — that’s totally normal.

    • If it feels hard to remove, try taking it off after a warm shower — the steam helps.

    • Be kind to yourself! Remove it slowly and gently.

    • Wear clean, soft, and loose clothes that don’t rub on the tattoo.

    • Avoid tight or synthetic fabrics over the area — let your skin breathe.

    • If your tattoo is in a spot that might touch belts, bra straps or waistbands, try to keep it uncovered or cushioned when possible.

    • At night, sleep in something loose and light to avoid friction while healing.

    • Scratching or picking at your tattoo — even if it itches.

    • Direct sun exposure — and no sunscreen until fully healed.

    • Swimming, baths, or saunas for at least 2 weeks.

    • Intense workouts or movements that stretch the tattooed skin.

That’s all you need for now.
Take it easy, keep an eye on your skin, and let it heal in its own time.
